December 2015
As of June 2015 the progress of my renovation has significantly slowed down. There are a few reasons for this and I hope that in 2016 I can get back on track to have it all completed. We have all of the remaining items to complete planned out and priced. At this point it is a matter of purchasing the materials.
When I first started remodeling the downstairs i thought i had planned out my budget accordingly. Unfortunately unexpected life events have delayed the work due to new expenses. I expect by late Spring I will have a few smaller tasks completed and a clearer picture of what is left to accomplish.

During the Christmas Holiday I took a break from doing anything major to the basement since my mom moved all of her things into it. I need a chance to breathe from the previous months of work. I looked at my finances and what is left to complete have a general outline how everything will be completed by the end of this year. This process is taking a lot longer than i anticipated but that is okay since i am going to save money. The general contractor i previously consulted with wanted about $40,000 to complete the area. I will have this done for less than half that.
The plan for this year is to complete everything except the kitchen. We are going to hold off on it until the end of this year to start early next year. My mom is often upstairs now using my kitchen so this isn't a high priority.
The rest of the house needs new windows and a pool pump replaced this summer so i have to budget for those.
